Explain the advantages and disadvantages of lithium batteries


Lithium batteries refer to cylindrical lithium batteries, commonly referred to as 18560 lithium batteries. Columnar lithium batteries are a widely discussed and widely discussed type of battery in terms of technology. Taking the power battery as an example, the 18560 cylindrical battery is a type of battery that has been extensively studied and technically discussed. It mainly consists of positive and negative barriers, positive and negative, collector, safety valve, overcurrent maintenance device, insulation components, and casing. The outer shell was mostly made of steel in the early days, but currently it is mainly made of aluminum. The safety valve inside, PTC, is shown in the following figure.

At present, the commonly used safety maintenance installation mainly includes PTC temperature coefficient maintenance installation and fuse maintenance installation. When the PTC current is too high, the resistance heats up, and temperature accumulation further promotes the increase of PTC resistance. When the temperature exceeds a threshold, the PTC resistance will sharply increase, which is equivalent to isolating the faulty battery cell from the entire circuit to prevent further thermal runaway.
