The Party report points out that cultivating interdisciplinary talent is the core essence of building a new medical science. Priority should be given to advancing educational and teaching reforms in three key areas, thereby establishing a new impetus system for nurturing such talent.
Promote the digital transformation of vocational education and cultivate versatile, digitally skilled professionals. The development of the digital economy is generating ever‑stronger demand for highly skilled, specialized digital talent. At present, China faces a pronounced shortage of such talent and a significant structural imbalance, which not only calls on workers to enhance their digital competencies but also places new demands on vocational education—particularly in fostering multidisciplinary expertise and guiding learners toward employment in digital‑oriented roles. We should establish a digital‑skills training system rooted in vocational institutions, tightly integrating formal education with corporate training, and aligning it with broader societal support. This system should enrich digital teaching resources at vocational schools, assemble multidisciplinary faculty teams, and deepen industry–school collaboration, offering real‑world case studies and practical solutions to bolster students’ hands‑on experience. In response to market needs for digital and intelligent talent, curricula should be adjusted as needed to ensure greater adaptability. Furthermore, the performance‑evaluation framework for leading cadres has been clarified. Our assessment metrics have evolved from prioritizing economic growth and GDP to emphasizing environmental protection and then social well‑being—each reflecting the “No. 1 Project” status of these initiatives. Although building a Digital China involves numerous stakeholders, poses considerable challenges, and may yield limited short‑term results, it remains a top priority that will receive high‑level attention from leadership. It requires rallying all sectors of society to work together effectively. From a talent‑development perspective, the future will see accelerated cultivation of versatile, practice‑oriented digital professionals.
