The key components of a lithium battery are the positive electrode, the negative electrode, the electrolyte, and the separator. Among these, the materials of the positive and negative electrodes determine the battery’s energy density, while the electrolyte and separator enable the free passage of lithium ions, thereby completing the electrical circuit—both playing a central role in battery performance. Under these conditions, both battery capacity and charging speed—two core factors underlying range anxiety in electric vehicles—can be traced back to challenges in battery materials. There is no doubt that battery materials science has become a pivotal field driving advances in electric‑vehicle technology, whether viewed from the perspective of enhancing energy density or improving charging efficiency.
By adopting new battery materials and technologies, such as silicon‑based electrolytes and solid‑state electrolytes, these advanced electrolytes exhibit superior thermal stability and are less likely to trigger thermal runaway, thereby further enhancing the performance of electric vehicles.
From a structural perspective, the power battery of an electric vehicle primarily consists of battery cells and a protection circuit board. Each cell, in turn, is composed of a positive electrode, a negative electrode, an electrolyte, and a separator. Its operating principle is as follows:
Xinzhoubang (300037): The company’s core business involves the research, development, production, and sales of advanced electronic chemicals. Its main product lines comprise capacitor chemicals and lithium‑battery chemicals, encompassing four categories: aluminum electrolytic capacitor chemicals, solid‑state polymer capacitor chemicals, supercapacitor electrolytes, and lithium‑ion battery electrolytes. During his presentation, Technical Director Lü Liang noted that as the applications of lithium batteries continue to expand—particularly with the widespread adoption of new‑energy vehicles and the growing number of large‑scale energy‑storage projects—numerous challenges and potential risks have emerged. Electrolytes play a critical role in addressing these issues. Currently, the company has developed high‑performance electrolyte formulations, including the novel solvent N11+ combined with the phosphorus‑based flame retardant FPN, high‑concentration lithium‑salt electrolytes and ionic liquids, gel‑type semi‑solid electrolytes, as well as fast‑charging, high‑performance electrolytes such as LiFSi, solid‑state electrolytes, and specialized electrolyte products tailored for sodium‑ion batteries, thereby meeting the diverse needs of customers and various market applications. According to the announcement of the results from the second review meeting, Suzhou’s IPO application on the ChiNext board has been approved. It is reported that Hua Yi Shares’ primary business focuses on the R&D, production, and sales of lithium‑battery electrolyte additives, making it one of the earliest domestic companies engaged in this field. The company’s core products, vinylene carbonate (VC) and fluoroethylene carbonate (FEC), are key additives for lithium‑battery electrolytes and are widely used in new‑energy vehicles, 3C devices, and grid‑level energy storage systems.
Lithium-ion batteries consist of four primary components: the cathode, the anode, the separator, and the electrolyte. During discharge, lithium ions move from the anode to the cathode; during charging, they flow in the opposite direction. A single battery cell delivers a limited amount of energy and is typically combined with other cells to form a battery pack. Battery packs can then be assembled into battery modules for high‑power‑demand energy storage applications, such as electric vehicles and grid‑scale energy storage. The materials used in the cathode, anode, separator, and electrolyte collectively determine the battery’s six key performance attributes: runtime, safety, cycle life, power output, energy density, and cost.
